The Deoriatal–Chandrashila trek is one of the most rewarding beginner-friendly Himalayan trails, combining dense forests, sprawling meadows, and spectacular summit views. The highlight is Chandrashila peak (3,680 m), offering a stunning 360° panorama of major Himalayan giants like Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedarnath Dome, and Chaukhamba. Quick Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Rishikesh to Sari

• Distance: 190 km
• Duration: 7-8 hours

Begin your journey with a scenic 8-hour drive from Rishikesh to Ukhimath(Chopta). The route passes through Devaprayag and Rudraprayag, offering breathtaking views of the river running alongside the mountains throughout the drive. Check-in at a guesthouse or campsite in Chopta.

Day 2: Trek from Sari to Deoriatal

• Trek Distance: 4.1 km
• Trek Duration: 2.5 hours
• Altitude Gain: 2000 mtr to 2,380 mtr

A short, gradual ascent through forests and rhododendron patches leads to the serene lake of Deoriatal, known for its mirror-like reflection of Chaukhamba massif.

Day 3: Trek from Deoriatal to Syalmi via Rohini Bugyal

• Trek Distance: 9.1 km
• Trek Duration: 6–7 hours
• Altitude Change: 2,380 m to 2,315 m via 2,750 m

A scenic traverse across dense forests and expansive meadows. From Rohini Bugyal, enjoy wide views of the Kedarnath and Kala Parvat ranges before a gentle descent to Syalmi.

Day 4: Trek from Syalmi to Baniya Kund

• Trek Distance: 5.4 km
• Trek Duration: 6 hours
• Altitude Gain: 2,315 m to 2,600 m

A peaceful walk through alpine forests and open clearings, with occasional views of Tungnath and the surrounding peaks.

Day 5: Trek from Baniya Kund to Chandrashila via Tungnath & drive to Sari

• Trek Distance: 13 km
• Trek Duration: 7–8 hours
• Altitude Gain: 2,600 m to 3,680 m via 3,475 m
• Drive Distance: 21 km (Chopta to Sari)

A steep, rewarding climb to Tungnath — the highest Shiva temple in the world. Continue to the Chandrashila summit for a breathtaking 360° Himalayan panorama featuring Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedarnath Dome, and Chaukhamba.

Day 6: Drive from Sari to Rishikesh

• Drive Distance: 190 km
• Drive Duration: 7–8 hours

Descend back to the plains and return to Rishikesh by late afternoon, marking the end of the trek.
